Default Bob, are you falling behind on M-14s ?

Thought I'd share some pics of recent aquisitions;

1) Norinco M-14s (USGI stock handguard and FH)
2) LRB M-14s (USGI stock, FH with rest TRW parts)
3) Springfield M1 Garand, CMP Correct Grade, post war
4) H&R M1 Garand, CMP Correct Grade, post war

Get 'em while you can

Where does one score the parts to build and M14. I've never ran across a kit or such and sure would like to have one. Always been one of my favorites!

I need to post a pic of my 14.....I know you're waiting to see it. Nice Garands when did you get those???

I should have my 2 CMP garands in a couple weeks. Me and another member ordered some at the same time about 4-5 weeks ago. Hopefully their in the mail...I've heard that before though....LOL

Bob;
Just kidding you of course, but I am glad you planted the M-14 idea in my brain. Found the nice Chicom copy I've been looking for. Made a good place to put the USGI FH I bought a while back. Hellva a thing to buy a rifle just so I have a place to use a FH

Pics would be cool when you find the time.

Picked up both the Garands right before my interest turned to M-14 clones. Guess it was just a natural progression or evolution.

Also, been buying up some Greek 30-06 from CMP as I go. Great stuff if you didn't already know.

BigAl;
I'll keep my eye out for a nice light birch stock. I've been hanging around some of the M-14 forums lately. They are a very dedicated crowd.

bsouthnow;
Only place I've seen parts kits for these lately is at Sarco. Somewhere around $800. Might want to run around here to see what's the latest;

Parts have gotten expensive lately. I'd heard it's cause of M-14 deployed in Iraq have increased the demand for parts and thus the $. You might be better off money wise finding a lightly used LRB or older Springfield built with USGI parts or a Chicom upgraded with USGI parts.

My interest always seems to wonder. A little of this, a lot of that. Gotta get 'em all

Does anyone know the history on the Chi-Com M 14? What was it intended for?

While I suspect it was in part to sell to the US market, I seem to also recall a shipment of these being found on a ship in the Phillippines headed for the rebels?????
