Now you'll it's little brother the Rashid to go with it. A bit harder to find, though! Sort of a cross between the Hakim and an SKS.

Looked at raheed today at the gun show, way overpriced, as was most everything.
Did see Salbo, and Eldog, and othesr. DPH was there and as always Scott hooked me up , I did get a deal from him.Saw some really nice stuff. Damn the ammo is high.

Do a search on MG15 magazines, they can be used in the hakim with very little modifications, theyre cheap and 20 rounders to boot.

New to board & first post to Gunco.

I picked up a Hakim over a year ago and love 'this poor mans M-1' Mine had a bad chamber that would stick a case extremely nasty. I purchased a new bbl from a gent in Spokane Washington...test fired 40rds thru it before the extractor snapped. More parts coming in mail, and then more range time in future. At 9.6 lbs it is a hefty piece to shoulder and carry, but the lessened recoil is fabulous compared to a bolt action 8mm. Just make sure your extractor spring is stiff. Kudos to the older battle rifles of the world.

I know what you mean about weight, I bought a SKS and a Romanian Romak3 PSL at a militira show and let my partner carry the SKS as it had a sling and the PSL didn't (it had nothing to do with the PSL being cooler than the SKS, honest lol) and after a hour I was worn out.

Got great respect for anyone who carried anykind of larger calliber rifle like most Russian 7.62mm

Recently bought a RPD as well and that thing is crazy heavy, how anyone ran or even walked across anykind of open country is beyond me lol
