What is the diffenece if any between a KP-31 AND A M-31 SOUMI?

I belive they are the same thing. Kinda like everyone likes to put an "M" in front of any gun because thats what our military does. The KP44 though is a different animal.

KP-31 is the correct Finnish designation, it stands for "Konepistooli-31". "Fast firing pistol" or somesuch, their term for submachinegun. As Moleman said, some people call it an M-31 which is incorrect, but "model-31" is easier to understand without a Finnish dictionary. Same gun.
