Default snowman

Earlier this week I was heading out of the neighborhood and saw several snowmen in front yards. The traditional three balls and sticks type. And one that was all weird and misshapen... it took a moment for my brain to recalibrate, and I recognized it as a Madonna and child. I thought it was quite good, considering someone was working with snow.

When I was a little kid(big kid now) we would pack snow in a wooden box to make building blocks. Some of the Forts we built took a long time to melt.

Gee, we never had wooden boxes when I was a kid. Everything was already cardboard.

I managed to scrounge some wooden apple crates when I moved out on my own, used them for storage and bookshelves. I've noticed those old wooden crates seem to to get varnished and put in antique shops now.

I guess anything is antique if you wait long enough. If there's an eBay in 2075, someone will probably be selling genuine McDonalds' wrappers and cups as antique packaging...

Railbuggy, I remember a plactic box thing they used to make that would make snow bricks, a bunch of us made a huge fort one time.
They were made of crappy plastic that would crack fairly easy when the temps dropped to the low teens, they were made in red & blue but after a while they turned duct tape grey trying to hold them together.
