Not really on topic, but "Soviet engineering" was a running joke all the way through Eastwood's "Space Cowboys."

They needed to repair a Soviet-era satellite while it was in orbit. Eastwood's character kept asking, "Why can't you just grab it with the Shuttle and bring it back?" Finally someone said something like, "It's... Soviet. Everything is... bigger."

Reminds me of that warm military issue beer we used to get.....cases of it...looking at each other in 100+ temperature, then this warrant officer had one of those light bulbs appear over his head like in the cartoons...we loaded the rocket pod tubes with the warm beer that slid perfectly down the 2.75" tubes after setting the detents so they wouldn't slide out, made a quick flight up to 12,000 ft. with a quick decent....AHHHHHHH ice cold beer!
