Default BIY Glow Sticks?

Can you make them yourself by mixing stuff together?

I think I answered my own question - yes you can and there are some how-to guides online. just don't search for "BIY Glow Stick"

I get them after Halloween when stores try to offload them. usually they are about a buck each (at The Dollar Tree store of course). Never heard of making them tho. I will have to look into that. Thanks.

I've seen a cpl of those how to vidz and it is interesting but may be cost prohibitive if you don't buy in bulk.

Something to keep in mind about the commercial glow sticks - they have a very definite shelf life. We used to put them in aviation survival vests and found that they deteriorated after a couple years, especially if the foil packaging was damaged. Also, the colder the environment, the longer they will last, generally. I attended a winter survival course some years ago, and in the group shelter we used, some glow sticks that had been used for the prior class two weeks earlier were still giving off visible light.

You can make them, the chemicals can be legally ordered.
