Doomsday preppers: Are they crazy, or are you?

I spent 3 weeks in New Orleans after Katrina doing search and rescue. That experience made me a firm believer in prepping to some degree. Plus, growing up in the middle of nowhere Montana and being snowed in for periods of time had a lasting affect.

Even to get licensed for adoption where we live they want you to have a "bug out" kit. They say it's supposed to last 7 days, but it's really a 3 day kit, could probably stretch it out longer if needed.
