Gas went up to 3.99 here the end of last week and came back down to 3.95
If it keeps going, we'll be like those guys on the street corners with the signs, "I'm working for food"

My crazy ass friend went out, as a joke, with a sign.

About the sign thing, I seen a guy out in Pittsburgh on the corner with a "homeless, please help, God bless" sign, I was going to give him a few bucks but then the guy lights up a smoke and pulls out a cell phone. So I didn't give him anything

I did go back to bed just after posting that.
Once and a while I can only sleep for about two or three hours at a time, then I'm up for a few hours before I go back to sleep for a few more. It really sucks when it happens for more then three or four days in a row, it feels like I was up for a couple days in a row and it throws off my sleep pattern for a while.

A TV station here in Indy offered those bums at the end of the Interstate ramps jobs and EVERY SINGLE ONE turned them down! They make more standin' around.

I thought I was going to have to use my concealed weapon last month over at the pizzeria? One of those, "HUNGRY VETS" came in asking if anyone could spare $50 bucks. I told him you are kind of high aren't you. Yeah, I served my country. I asked him what weapon he qualified with. He said the standard issue. I forgot.

I told him to hit the road. He stood there looking like he was fixing to pull out something. I already had my hand on my Glock 23. He knew either way he was fixing to wind up DEAD. Out the door he went.

Hence, why we now carry GUNS!

interstate trucking is alive and well
I just returned from a florida (sw) to Penn roadtrip since it was a weekday drive and not around a holiday or snow bird reteat time, I encountered a lot ALOT of trucks on 95 most were co-operative

While I agree with all of you on your rant about fuel . Let me throw out another hypothetical , lets suppose that the bridge over the Mississippi rivers in in say Quincy Il, Hannibal MO , St Louis MO , and Memphis Tn were to be damaged by a big quake on the New Madrid fault ... a big quake there could take out both rail and road traffic . The consequences could take years to correct , and in the mean time your food prices would sky rocket , if you could get food . Once there is no food to be had , what will happen ... yeah , the inevitable riots in the streets , will make Greece look like a picnic.

Good point mauser. Military could come in and probably put up temporary bridges..
But the "New Madrid Quake" was the largest this country has ever had.
Changed the course of rivers and devestated whole states.
Everyone keeps looking at California to go.
But if that Madrid fault cracks again.
I really think bridges will be the least of our worries.
Don't forget Yellow-Stone park.

The military could put in temp bridges , but even then and with the ferries running full out there would be such a bottle neck that less than 1/3 the supplies would get through . The whole country would crash.
