Let's see how long this guy lasts in his bunker
Although he is giving preppers a bad name, this is a real world scenario. Lets see how long he lasts in the bunker before the cops cave it in or blow it up

Stick a fire hose in the bunker and flood it. If he comes out great, if not who cares. It worked to get that looser john walker the so called American taliban freedom fighter out of his bunker. If it's a forest they should have some sort of firefighting capability to get water that close to a road. Heck I don't even think they'd have to flood it all the way. after a few days in knee deep water with no heat or dry feet and he'll be ready to poke his head outside.

Looks like he shot himself, by the report anyway.
Seattle-area tactical officers who slogged for hours over dangerously steep, muddy ground to find him were prepared too. They pumped in tear gas, called for him over bullhorns, and, after 22 hours, set off explosives along the top of the bunker Saturday.
Keller was inside, already dead of a self-inflicted gunshot. A handgun was next to his body.

Anouther example of why a fixed position dosn't work, look at the Sigfreed line as an example. Just about the strongest possible fortifications you could imagine, but it still didn't work. Fixed cache is fine but don't depend on a bunker for a defensive position, it won't work for long. Fix position is fine for survival porpouses if you have no out side detectible source of smoke or have a really well hidden entrance and exaust/intake outlets, and don't allow any confrontations in that area prompting an area search.
Always fight from a moveible position far from any cache or home bunker as possible, good old gorrilla tactics. If ya really feel the need for a bunker, go for it, but don't draw any attition to it or you'll loose it. That's where the NVA always screwed up, they'd fight back to these positions making it easyer to locate them. Evaide and escape is the way to go, and only go back for resupply or to vanish, never fight from there or otherwise draw attition to the area.

Guy was a friggen wack ball.
Think Gunco nailed it. Now everyone with a tornado shelter or survival shelter is going to be a nut case.
"Smelled smoke from his bunker"
Probably cooking his last meal..
They should have poured Foo-Gas down the pipe and made the idiot's last meal well done.
