Water "per person", and purification

40 gallons of useable clean water. Man, what an idea!

oK , I STEAL AT LEAST 5, 500 ML BOTTLES OF SEALED WATER FROM WORK EVERY DAY.

These have been amassing in the storage tubs and around this place for the last several months. The company puts these in a cooled dispenser for us employees to use each day. So, I make it a point to bring home five each day for stash.

Maybe, if I don't get laid off in the next month or two, we will be in pretty good shape?

i was waiting on this to come along to add to the list.
beer! when i was in vietnam i was on a 9 man mobility team and sometimes getting good water was a problem. storage became a problem, so every friday we would get a skid pallet of beer. ( 90 cases of beer). we used it for cooking, drinking, brushing teeth, trading in the market,etc.
we got 500 gallons of potable water once a month for bathing ( quick shower). 500 gallons per month does not go far with 9 men.

Although alcohol is a diuretic, it is ALWAYS a good idea to havve some. Not just as a creature comfort, but COULD also be used as a medicinal(anesthetic) and a GREAT bartering tool. Spirits will also keep for a long time. Stock up on a few bottles of beap stuff, rail vodka, gin and whiskey to sit on for tuff times(if you can)
