Hey Josh; Have you considered getting yourself an 03 Curio & relic FFL liscense?
There is a thread by SALBO here on Gunco with tips.
It is very easy & only costs $30.00 for 3 years. Then you could buy older guns like these Mosins & have them sent right to your house. One or two FFL traansfer fees costs more than a liscense to buy them yourself.
You will also get DEEP discounts from Brownells & several others.
You can order from places like SOG & Century International & get their flyers.
It's the best $30.00 a guy can spend if guns are a part of your life.

with the C&R that would mean i am subject to randome searchs of my house by the ATF? not that i have anything to worry about i just hate assholes going thru my shit.

No it does not Josh. They CAN come visit a C&R holder, but only by appointment.
I've never heard of it happening. I think C&R FFL holders are WAY down the priority list for the BATFE. Not to say that might not change with the Dems in power.
