yes i knew about AA's work with the round i just don't want to spend that kind of $$ just to fire a few cheap dirty 5.45's-- i was thinking a $90 5.45 barrel re-worked into a AR upper i all-ready have. one thing that is a concern--on the S&W they claim you can load 27 5.45's in a AR-30rd mag?
i question if that is actually doable?? or is it??
well been playing around with the bushmaster 30rd mag with the green follower. to me it looks like stacking more than a few 5.45s in it would be a no-go.
7 rounds maybe--
i am going to play around with a couple of old bulgy-plastic 5.45 mags and see if one can be cut down enough to fit in the AR magwell.
If S&W is releasing an upper, I am sure they have some mags lined up. There is a mag manufacture that I believe is going to make a hi-cap version for them. Colt made a 7.62x39mm version that didn't sell well because there was no hi-cap mag.
