Question Anbody ever have problem w/ Del-ton?

Would like to know about Del-ton and how good thier stuff is. I have mainly dealt with M1S, M&A, DPMS, and a few others. Anyone ever have any problems out of them?

Two kits from them, no problems, great shooters. I know they were pretty overwhelmed with orders after the election, don't know what the lead time from them is now.

I've read that some of their gas keys are not properly staked but I've never heard of any failures.

Apart from taking forever to get an upper from them (blame Obongo and the gun-grabbing panic of '09), no problems at all. Great upper, shoots well.

the only problems i have seen on del-tons parts was the 7.62x39 barrel they sent had the wrong threads for the flash hider. it was also terribly dirty and had a one size too small gas port which i had to open up.

one del-ton upper came through here that had short stoking problems. the gas port was two sizes smaller than it needed. the carrier was not staked either.

i think these problems were due to the huge backlog of orders caused by the obongo-panic of 08-09. they got in to big a rush and shipped some things that should have been in the "factory seconds bin" for good parts --likely because that was all they had to fill orders with at the time.

i have bought many del-ton parts from other vendors and they have all been first class.

if they have finally caught up on orders. there shouldn't be any problems with them.

I have a buddy here in NC who ordered from them in May and is still waiting for his order. However, lots of folks here get their stuff, b/c "they are local" and we like driving out to the outer banks to pick it up. They are good, good people and will correct mistakes. They are completely swamped right now, though. I don't know if the falling AR prices will help or hurt their backlog, to tell the truth.

I have a 16 and 20 inch from them and a lower... Have been to their old shop, great folks to deal with.

LONG wait for some stuff...but nice uppers. I had one I built that had some funky lines in the finish, they took it back and gave me a new upper.
