I just got a 16" M4 style kit from akpartskits.com and the quality is ok, she shoots just fine. A very good deal at $400 IMO.

i like j&t and del-ton --after reading the FAQ's at ak.parts i may try some of their stuff as well.

as far as i can tell AK-parts hasn't sold any vulcan/hesse parts and the parts on their online store look just like the name-brand stuff--which they claim are not seconds--

well-- they are related to vulcan after all--however that don't make all their stuff vulcan--but some of it could be???

DPMS if you are in a hurry.

Order upper and other parts separate from the best source if you have time.

RRA

STAG

DPMS

All of these parts are MILSPEC. So, they work together right.

My favorite 9mm AR uses an RRA upper with DPMS internals and rear stock with a STAG lower receiver. Put at least 1000 rounds of various through it with NO problems.

some little known but decent AR parts/kit packagers--http://www.jsesurplus.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=4&Page=1
AR15 Partshttp://www.fireforeffect.biz/
FireforEffect

i think these guys sell the uppers un-assembled which would be more "fun" for a gunco member. from what i have seen they use first class parts-- i'm really tempted to buy either a m4orgery from FFE or maybe call jse and see if they will make me a mid-length kit!!

A nother good place to try is Midwayusa . You can get DMPS, Olimpic Arms and other suppliers at good prices . If you are not in a hurry they some times have sales on lower rec. parts kits, Uppers and other Gunsmithing supplies.Prices are reduced at least 3.00-5.00 sometimes

a good way to go is build your lower then shop around for an upper. AIM has good deals on lower's and LPK's as does Jse surplus.

places like ADCO, legal transfers, R-guns and armalite have some good specials from time to time. if you shop around you can make a really good deal on a complete upper. i just wish armalite would make a sweetheart deal on their 7.62x39 upper like they have on their m-4's and mid-length.

another +1 for del-ton. They delivered quick and the product is A1.
