personaly I think rock river makes the best ar stuff. I have 2 xomplete .223 guns and a 5.45 one with their lower and upper but a s&w bbl . they work fine with steel cased ammo.

Their products are good. Their customer service sucks balls. Order more than one thing and it's guaranteed they'll mess it up. Then when you call they'll give you some B.S. about why they sent the wrong items out and billed you for what you ordered.

man, that is the truth... We moved this summer, 3 year PCS. So I called about a 7.5" pistol upper I ordered back in March. Changed my address and phone number with them on 23 Jul.

FFWD to 18 Aug when I send a ping to them asking for an update.

Get back a reply two days later my order had been canc'd on 2 Aug.

WTF? Called them, stated they tried to call me twice, no luck. BS, gave them my wife's cell phone as the current number. Number is still active to this day. They had my new address (hmmm) but not my new phone number (huh?). So I asked how they would have managed to have one and not the other - Dunno.

Well, all we can do is put you to first in line for when we ship again. Any idea how long? Nope. Couldn't even resurrect the old order since it was already dead.

Wanted proof of military service for my discount (WTF?)- was nowhere near a fax machine to send my ID so I asked if she could tell by the price of the order they gooned up if I was military (oh, yeah, never thought of that).

I was getting more pissed off by the minute (lady on the phone told me to stop yelling, I wasn't, I make ears bleed when I yell, I heard my wife laughing in the background when I explained I was not yelling that it was my normal tone I'm 6'6" 260 everything I do is big) anyway...

Sorry to vent, this brought up a bad memory.

Will not order from them again once this deal is complete.

I won't ever deal with again either. What you just explained is about the norm.

Oddly enough - the DAY after I posted my RRA diatribe I got a UPS Tracking e-mail, no verification calls (like I supposedly missed the first go around)...

Upper came the other day, looks good now I need to find where I put my lower parts kit and buffer cover to get the pig built. Oh, and get my work bench put back together, and get the lights hooked up, and find my tools.

Moving sucks and its hunting season.

Not enough time to do everything right now.

strangely enough all the RRA stuff and DPMS stuff i have bought over the years came form vendors other than direct form them. and i have had no problems.

RRA direct sales may be a stinker. but we got other places to buy from.

my current AR is an LMT (who, like RRA, is based in Illinois), which I bought from a dealer that sells both - and actually pushes the RRA rifles harder. the LMT is a standard carbine, and is tops in every quality category IMO.

my next AR was going to be a RRA, a 20" Standard A4 to be exact, which I'd have to custom order from the factory. this thread has me thinking twice about that now. in all fairness though, the RRAs I played with at my retailer hefted and shot like super-high quality firearms - so close in quality to the LMT that I almost flipped a coin to make my decision. LMT's customer service is A+ all the way though, and that was enough for me to pick their firearm over RRA the first time around...
