Default Do matching numbers matter?

Do matching numbers on a FAL kit matter like they do on an AK? If some, but not all are important, which ones for function?

no.
matching numbers don't even matter on the ak rifles.
they all need ( should) to be head spaced checked anyway.
it just looks better to some if the are all matching.
i like mine as all matching numbers as i can, ( except for the receiver number i will not pay extra for that)

Cool. No extra work involved with mismatched numbers on a FAL.

Any recomendation on someone to time a barrel and headspace near Austin?

It's easy to do if you can find the tools. I used RLBs FAL tools...he had someone over at falfiles make them for him. Post a want to rent thread and someone here may have a set they would let you use.

It may time out just right with out any tools. You set the headspace with gauges that slide in where your locking shoulder presses in and then you buy the right size shoulder and press it in.
