Rbthntr and I were discussing this issue last night and I have a K98 FN in 30/06 that I would like to try. I also have a M39 that I think would make a hell of a good shooter and I would like to try both of those on a competition. And I have a very nice K98k , that I would love to try; but I would have to reload some good ammo for it to find out how accurate it is.

I've used the Garand, M1a, No4Mk1 Enfield, K31, and '96 and 38 Swede. The Garand and M1A in Hi Power Matches. The rest in Vintage rifle matches. The '96 Swede is a winner, and so is the K31. The Enfield does me well in cast bullet matches.

I try to use all of my milsurps in hi-power matches. It's always funny shooting a Turkish 38 against a M1A and almost win.

The CMP results are for non-accurized rifles. For a lot of the shooters, they are shooting surplus Ball ammo in the Vintage match, and for the Springfield and Garand matches one is required to shoot Greek-made M2 Ball. The Greek-made M2 Ball shoots decently, but extraction is sticky, which has caused me to 'save' rounds in the Springfield rapid fire stages.

I've used my K31 in competition. Quite successfully too. Shoots GREAT groups, and the bolt is quite a fast action!

VERY nice shooting gun!

I've used K-31 and shot well. While I like the grip feel of Finnish M-39, I feel the K-31 is easier for long range because of thinner front sight.

Garand, 1903a1, M1A and Hakim. I just took 2nd place in a local CMP shoot with my Winchester Garand.

M1 garand--and was the only one in a pool of AR shooters, and did pretty well out to 600yds.
