California Legislator Introduces Open Carry Ban!

Assemblyman Anthony J. Portantino (D-Los Angeles) has introduced legislation that would change the stateâs gun laws and restrict the right of law-abiding citizens to carry an unloaded handgun openly. It is currently legal to carry an unloaded handgun into most public places within the state, including restaurants and malls, but if approved, AB 144 would make it a misdemeanor to carry an unloaded handgun in public under most circumstances. A committee hearing date has not been set for AB 144 at this time. Please call your Assemblyman today and urge him or her to oppose AB 144.
