Chicago versus the Second Amendment

On March 2, the Supreme Court will hear arguments on whether Chicago must respect the Second Amendment "right of the people to keep and bear arms."Mayor Richard M. Daley argues that it does not apply there, and that in "an urban landscape, the Second Amendment becomes the enemy of ordered liberty, not its guarantor."Ignoring those citizens who may need guns to protect their families in their own homes, Daley conjures a parade of horrors, such as "criminal street gangs with the right to carry guns" using violence "to control the drug trade."

WITH is "ordered liberty?"

This is an oxymoron of the nauseating kind. A soldier gives up a part of his liberty when he swears his oath. Orders (lawful ones) give his life order. Superiors issue those orders, and ensure they are executed.

Daly wants to impose "order" on our liberty, without the voluntary step (such as becoming a member of the Armed Services) of a Chicagoan deciding to relinquish that portion of liberty.

What a treasonous, Constitution demeaning asshat.

Chicago is still gun-shy.
It's time to address self protection in real-time.
Those that are confident and trained to carry, should be able to carry.
