Connecticut: Governor’s Midterm Budget Adjustment Cuts Funding for Pheasant Stocking
In a move that negatively impacts Connecticut’s hunting heritage, Governor Dan Malloy has decided that cutting the state’s pheasant stock program has suddenly become necessary. This self-sustaining program is budgeted at $160,000, but in reality draws nothing from the General Fund and would actually cost the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) revenue through reduced license sales.
