Connecticut: Governorís Midterm Budget Adjustment Cuts Funding for Pheasant Stocking
In a move that negatively impacts Connecticutís hunting heritage, Governor Dan Malloy has decided that cutting the stateís pheasant stock program has suddenly become necessary.† This self-sustaining program is budgeted at $160,000, but in reality draws nothing from the General Fund and would actually cost the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) revenue through reduced license sales.†
