D.C. Officials Weigh Keeping Semiautomatic Pistols Illegal After Blanket Handgun Ban

The court ruled that a blanket ban on handguns is unconstitutional, but D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty and other Washington officials want to keep in place a prohibition on semiautomatic handguns â those in which a bullet clip is inserted into the gun`s grip.

What will this prevent? How will this help crime figures at all?
I CANNOT understand this. people with speedloaders can do just as much damage as a guy with a 15 rd semi-auto pistol?
Besides, revolvers are offered in MUCH larger calibers than most semi-autos!

Maybe they should use all the money spent figting the constitution over denying gun rights and use it to prosicute real criminals and maybe hire more police officers??? If the spent one tenth of the effort trying solve crime, stop gangs DC would be better off.

At least they will still be able to keep a S&W 500 magnum on the night stand. That would be a dandy way to stop an intruder. Especially if it made the paper and the homeowner said he had it because the mayor wouldn't let him have a 9mm.... Just a thought.....

"Looks like my friend Wildey is coming."

"Who's Wildey?"

"You'll see..."

Backwards-ass reasoning got them into this mess in the first place. It must be "catching" up there in DC?
They are trying to/hoping that this DOES happen so that they can say "see, we told you so"
headline-

"Home intruder shot dead in DC by homeowner with .600 nitro express revolver, 2 others die as result in neighboring homes"
