After threatening to kill himself and his estranged girlfriend, a criminal went to his girlfriend’s home in Scotland Neck, N.C. and attempted to break in through a window. Upon noticing her estranged boyfriend, the girlfriend, who was at home with her one-year-old daughter, grabbed a rifle and ordered the home invader to leave. When the intruder attempted to take the firearm from the girlfriend, she fired, striking him in the arm and ending the home invasion. Once the attacker is released from the hospital he will face charges of assault, first-degree burglary and communicating threats.
