Mayor Daley on Friday cracked the door open to abandoning the costly fight to uphold Chicago`s 1982 handgun ban -- if he can fashion a replacement ordinance that protects the safety of first-responders.

WHICH, he most certainly will- ala Mayor Fenty and the DC city council.
He'll find some "slick" backdoor, restrictive policy effectively banning all modern firearms. Allowing only percussion cap ,black powder pistols made between 1835 to 1850 be used for home defense.
