Fight to allow checked guns on Amtrak

Baggage-checked firearms have a proven safe track record on airlines. The friendly skies are much farther removed from LEO and other public safety intervention than are trains.

Why the idjuts fight baggage-checked firearms on Amtrak is beyond comprehension.

guns were band from train out of fear of guns.
right now only cops can carry guns on trains ,but there are no measures in place to stop any one els ,and will some one tell me wtf makes cops so special that it is OK for them but not cpl holders

My girlfriend takes Amtrak down to Fort Lauderdale. O.K. No problema.
My sister and grand niece just took the train to Connecticut.
Getting on Amtrak in Deland Florida. NO inspection. No picture I.D. and away you go. O.K. Safety first.
Now my sister gets to New York. Holy mother of God.
She does not drive so she has no picture I.D.
They were not going to let her on the train to New Haven Connecticut because she had no picture I.D. She just went the whole damn East Coast on the train.
She could have been Osamn Bin Laden in drag and they did not care.
She went bezerk and told them so. No security, security, no security, security. WTF. Over.
Why the hell have security on one end and not the other. Confused.
Yes there are armed guards on every train.
But if they are not doing security on one end, and doing it on the other. What the hell good is it?
It is kind of like checking you for guns when your "leaving" the damn bank. Geez.
