The U.S. Supreme Court says Americans have a right to own guns for self-defense and hunting, and the ruling will likely invalidate the 26-year-old ban on handguns in the City of Chicago.

What gets me is he is playing it as the elected/appointed officials get to be safe because guns are prohibited in government buildings but the poor people on the street will now be in danger because they can't prohibit them elsewhere. If that is the case why are Aldermen in chicago exempt from their ban? Surely they would be safer without guns!

I've always loved the hypocrisy that states "It's alright for me to have guns because I'm a politician but it's not alright for you, a common citizen, to have them".

This hipocrisy is the entire reason for the bill of rights, IMO.
I guess everything is cyclical?
