As I've written before, the right to keep and bear arms is the only right our Founding Fathers described as "necessary to the security of a free state." This designation is in the very language of the Second Amendment: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
