Halbrook: Don`t Confirm Holder
If the issue weren`t so serious for our nation, the irony would be delicious. Eric Holder, President Obama`s choice for Attorney General is justly criticized for many things. But the fact that he recommended that President Clinton pardon and release from prison unrepentant FALN terrorists while at nearly the same time advocating that law abiding gun owners be imprisoned if their registration papers are not in order reveals a hard core left wing agenda. The Latest on the Second Amendment Book Bomb In last week`s Grassroots Alert, we reported on the confirmation hearings for some of the Obama administration`s high-profile appointees, including anti-gun Attorney General designate Eric Holder. As we noted, one of those testifying before the Judiciary Committee was Dr. Stephen P. Halbrook, one of the leading Second Amendment attorneys in America. Halbrook has represented NRA and individual gun owners in many critical cases, including the current Second Amendment challenge to D.C.-style gun bans in the Chicago area. Halbrook took Holder to task for his positions. (To view the C-SPAN video of Dr. Halbrook`s remarks, please click here; to see his full written testimony, please click here.)In addition, Dr. Halbrook is the author of the superb, recent Independent Institute book, The Founders` Second Amendment: Origins of the Right to Bear Arms, that has formed the basis for the powerful, ongoing Second Amendment Book Bomb as well as his earlier Amici Curiae Brief on behalf of 300+ members of Congress in the Supreme Court`s landmark decision defending the individual right to bear arms in the case of District of Columbia v. Heller. With the threat of the Holder nomination, all gun owners are strongly encouraged to pledge today at the Second Amendment Book Bomb and send a loud and clear message that Second Amendment rights are unalienable by making The Founders` Second Amendment a #1 bestseller! Please go to the following web site and pledge to obtain at least one copy of the book, and then urge everyone you know to make their pledge ASAP:http://www.secondamendmentbook.com/.
