House panel votes to block new gun sales rule

Two days after President Obama approved a new rule to crack down on gunrunning to Mexico, a House committee voted Wednesday to block it from taking effect.The House Appropriations Committee voted 25 to 16 to insert a rider into the Justice Department's spending bill, prohibiting the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives from implementing the regulation.
