The NRA is pleased to report that on Monday, August 22, Governor Pat Quinn signed House Bill 143 into law. This bill modifies Illinois Criminal Code to allow the possession of a vintage rifle or modern reproduction with a barrel of less than 16 inches for use during historical re-enactments. Effective immediately, such possession of a short barreled rifle is now legal in Illinois, provided certain criteria are met.
