Postak Illinois: House committee approves gun control legislation

A House committee on Monday pushed through three pieces of gun legislation, sending them to the full House for consideration.State Rep. His first bill -- approved on a 7 to 5 vote -- amends the Firearm Owners Identification Card Act by prohibiting individuals who lack the proper license to sell or transfer their firearms to another person. Just last week they were calling for the National Guard to patrol the streets of Chicago because criminals were taking over.

Seems like highly restrictive gun laws have an adverse reaction on crime.

This is just more BS out of chicago politicians who think there're smarter than everyone else. Now they want to prohibit you from leagally selling your own property? If the person buying the firearm has a valid foid card where's the crime and how is this going to prevent any more crime? Its just an attempt to document more firearms that belong to older people that might not be in the gun registration system that "doesn't exist". The state also already requires you to transport a firearm in a case through the DNR laws and unlawful use a weapons statutes. Why make another law that does the same thing as an existing law instead of enforcing the laws that we already have?

Criminals get their FOID cards just like everyone else, right?
