First of all, multiple Illinois State Police directors over the years all agree that keeping the names of gun owners private is a matter of public safety. Releasing these names to the public will put more illegal guns on the street and the result will be gangs and thugs will target defenseless residents without guns and they may target for theft homes that contain guns.
