Legislative Deadlines Weed Out Gun Bills in Nevada
 

With only fourteen days left in the Nevada Legislature's 76th Regular Session, only a handful of pro-gun bills remain. Two measures have been signed into law by Governor Brian Sandoval, Assembly Bill 217, legislation providing for out-of-state purchase of long guns, and Assembly Bill 321, self-defense reform legislation, which was signed into law on May 19. On Friday, May 20, the Senate unanimously passed Assembly Bill 143, introduced by state Assemblyman David Bobzien (D-24). This bill will now go back to the Assembly to be engrossed and then goes to the Governor for his consideration. AB 143 is similar in nature to SB 126 regarding the use of any semi-automatic pistol and any revolver to qualify for a CCW permit. AB 143 also ensures that the identity of Concealed Carry Weapons (CCW) permit holders is kept confidential.
