Unfortunately, I know first hand more than I would like about Chicago politics. A decade ago, I was working at the University of Chicago Law School as an Olin Fellow, doing research and some teaching, when I happened to cross paths with Mayor Richard Daley. As he is now about to retire from office, it is time for the facts to come out.

With Great Respect to Mr. Lott, whom we all know to be an excellent Academic, an Honest Man, and Great American.

I only wish to say that I wish I had been sitting next to him on that day. Even in Chicago, a person can come to the aid of another who is in imminent danger.

Personally, I like crooked politicians and their thugs! They give me something to take my aggression out on.

I wish Mr. Lott Health and Happiness. It would be good if he were always accompanied by persons like myself.
