Beau McCoy of Omaha, argued that letting churches arm their security guards was a "common sense" change that would enhance safety in places of worship.McCoy cited the December 2007 shooting at New Life Church in Colorado Springs, in which two church members were killed. An armed security guard wounded a gunman, likely saving lives, McCoy said.
