Last night, the Corrales Village Council defeated anti-gun Resolution 12-032 by a 4-2 vote! (Click to read more or watch the news report). This proposal would have imposed a far-reaching ban on the possession of firearms in many village facilities (including outdoor parks, recreational centers and the community library) and the parking lots surrounding them. Sponsor Mick Harper and Councilor Jim Fahey voted in support of this gun ban, while Councilors Ennio Garcia-Miera, Hoyt Hart, John Alsobrook and Pat Clauser voted against it. Thank you to the many NRA members who turned out to this village council meeting to express opposition to these misguided, and likely unconstitutional, restrictions on the lawful carrying of firearms for personal protection.
