Senate Bill 782 was pulled from the Senate Commerce Committeeâs calendar on Tuesday, April 21 as a result of opposition from the North Carolina Sheriff Association (NCSA). SB782 would repeal the requirement that law-abiding citizens must obtain a permit to purchase a pistol from their local sheriff before they may lawfully acquire any pistol. Please contact the members of the Senate Commerce Committee and urge them to support SB782.

It's all about money. The fees collected by the sheriff's dept. and nothing else.
