I have mixed feelings on this one. There are a lot of good parents out there who are afraid of there 16yr old gangsta rapper kid. If the cops can take the punks gun away I say good.
On the other hand, if the cops scare the people into thinking they have to let them search the house. That is a different story.

This is F*&King crazy! During this "authorized" search what if they come across something else considered illegal. Will they grab that too? Will they arrest people??
YA I think 4th has a good point that some of these good parents have bad kids, but there are laws on the books that parents are responsible for their kids actions. How does that fall into play here.
Bottom line this is a "feel good community policing" program to let the police and governement get around our that pesky thing called......our rights!!
