SB 234 was finally passed out of the Senate Criminal Justice by a 3 to 2 vote. Three Republicans supported the bill, state Senators Charles Dean (R-3), Paula Dockery (R-15) and Greg Evers (R-2). Two Democrats vote against the bill, state Senators Gwen Margolis (D-35) and Chris Smith (D-29). SB 432 will be rescheduled for a later date. House Bill 517, introduced by state Representative Chris Dorworth (R-34), was heard today in the House Criminal Justice Subcommittee. As with SB 234, the âcampus carryâ provision was also removed from this bill. HB 517 was then passed by the House Criminal Justice Subcommittee by a 10 to 3 vote.
