Senator Charles E. Grassley of Iowa, the top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, called Wednesday for the resignation of the head of the Justice Department's criminal division, Lanny A. Breuer, in the latest flare up connected to the disputed gun trafficking investigation known as Operation Fast and Furious.
