Today U.S. District Judge, Northern District of Illinois, Milton Shadur declined to decide whether the individual right to keep and bear arms recognized by the Supreme Court in D.C. v. Heller applies to states and localities. He defaulted the decision to the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals, which ruled adversely in 1982. The National Rifle Association has filed an appeal with the 7th Circuit, and we are optimistic that Second Amendment freedoms for law-abiding residents of Chicago and surrounding areas will be restored. NRA is committed to seeing this case to the United States Supreme Court if that is what it takes to uphold the Second Amendment in Illinois.

Whether or not an
individual right applies to states and localities?
MMmmm, seems like prohibition was across the board, freedom of the press and all those other goodies; however, if it goes the wrong way, then what? Seems to me that all the Guaranteed rights are not.......
