A citizen's right to self-defense while traveling should not be denied by employers and other owners of parking areas who refuse law-abiding citizens the ability to keep firearms out of sight in their locked private vehicles.  However, this is precisely what is happening in too many places in Tennessee.  This includes cities like Memphis, a place the FBI reports to be the second most violent large city in America for the last year-and-a-half for which statistics are available.  In the first half of 2011, it was reported to have the highest rape rate in the entire country.
