The bill by Rep. Joe Driver, R Garland, would allow Texans with concealed handgun permits to carry their weapons onto college and university campuses.Driver said his legislation would apply to people 21 and older, thus affecting a relatively small percentage of the student population. But it would go a long way toward bolstering safety at increasingly vulnerable campuses, he said.
