Thousands sign petition to make Texas an open-carry state
 

Texas, despite its independence and frontier reputation, is one of only six states where handguns cannot â in some form â legally be worn in plain view. In Texas, where residents may carry concealed handguns if they have a permit, more than 3,500 people have signed an online petition asking Gov. Rick Perry and the Legislature to make Texas an open-carry state.

It would be nice if you did not have to hide it. Be proud, show every one what you carry. Would like to carry my 357 sig P229 with lazer.
It is to big to hide. My fingers are crossed. Where is that on line petition???

My wife and I both signed up this afternoon. It was up to around 4600 signatures then. Now up to over 5700 sign and rapidly growing :woot:

I have carried the 1911 "open" here in Va and the cops don't even take a second look.
