Next week, the Island County Commission will consider a proposal that would impose a total ban on shooting at Deer Lagoon. Hunters at Deer Lagoon have an impeccable safety record and have protected this important waterfowl habitat for decades. This prohibition would end waterfowl hunting, a popular and established tradition in Deer Lagoon.

It's not the folks in office so much as the 'tards from South Whidbey who pull this crap every so often. They'll bring this crap up so as to drive off hunters and then this group will find ways to devalue the property around there, then purchase it, then sell it to developers.

What happened last time was the hearing got leaked to the local gunshops and rod and gun clubs, the room was filled with locals who weren't in any mood to lose "ground". It basically ended there.

I remember one of the twits who talked to the local paper the last time this crap was brought up. She said,"I was walking along the nature trail when this terrorist looking man came out with a shotgun."
