308 Conversion

My conversion is finished. I used a Tapco G2 fire control group. A Tapco disconnector spring, and retaining plate. A Tapco Ak buttstock. Tapco Saw
pistol group and A Tapco pistol grip nut. The parts cost $111.70 dollars shipped. I got them from carolinashootersupply. They came within a week.
I used a 8-32 bolt and nut to anchor the trigger gaurd.

Machine work, I demilled two rivits and three spot welds on the plate underneath the receiver. The pistol grip square hole had to be cut out as well. And, I drilled a hole for the the trigger gaurd nut. The hammer also has to be ground down , use the Saiga one for a guide.

I sanded the receiver, degreased it and used Krylon BBQ paint to touch it up.
It is ready to go to the range tommorro to test fire.

I never shot it without the pistol grip. Was range tested today and shot twenty rounds of 1960's Nato spec Surplus no FTF or FTE's. Seems to work great action is very smooth when cocked. The saw grip is the only way to go with the pistol grip.

How is the recoil on the .308? Very nice looking job. I have the Saiga Intrafuse fore grip by Tapco for my .223 and it also came with a special piece if I wanted to use it on a .308. Give me some nice rails to use.
