What's with the 410 barrel?

I basicly got the same ones you do, just swap your 223 long for a 5.45 16", I still need to convert the 308 and I'm not sure if I'm going to do the 410 or leave it stock.

The 410 has an Alumalite barrel shroud on it. Uses the factory threaded muzzle. Supposed to reduce recoil. Well I did not notice anything really but it does look cool.
