Default 308 sagia mag options???????

what options exsit for mags for the 308 sagia. now that I have one I want to get a least a couple hicap mags before any bans. are there amercian made ones?? after market? good or bad ones? can any common mags be addapted easly. I will likely convert the gun at some point but to be honest if the factory style mags work will likely stick with that style.

Seems like there was some discussion about converting M-14 mags, but with these new US-built Saiga mags, I'd go with them.

Well damn....I typed up a long response for you but the damn server didn't take it.

Anyhow....I'll give you a quick summary...

Of course there are the factory 8 round mags, then there are the FBMG 20rd. mags (look and function great, but out of stock currently...they show up sometimes on GB), then the SureFire mags (I personally don't like the looks, but to each his own, AND they have had some reliability issues), and then there are the M14 mag conversions (Will at Red Jacket has done some of these so you may ask him...I'm sure he'll give you some pointers to the conversion).

It's a lot easier to convert to FAL mags, and cheaper too. The M14 mags (around here anyway) aren't much less expensive than the Surefire or FBMG. You can find FAL's for 8-12 bucks.

There were but I can't find the thread. Rhino, Sang, and a few others contributed. Around 2006 timeframe. I'm afraid it may be in that epic thread about the 6.5mm Grendel Concept Rifle

You can read all about "G3 mags in a 308 Saiga" and "FAL mags in a 308 Saiga" and "M14 mags in a 308 Saiga" over at [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

I can save you a trip.

None worked w/o massive mods to the rifle and the mags.

You'll end up with a rifle that only works with your monster mags, and monster mags that only work on that particular Saiga.
