Got it. Thanks a lot. With this jig do I have to use a press or could a hammer and block work? The email says that the top rail part on the jig my need to be adjusted some, what are the measurements that it needs to be? That should be the last of my questions, I think ive got all the info and jig plans that I need to get started bending receivers. Im going to try and find a place that can/do heat treating of the entire receiver, maybe the pottery shop down the road would do it. Thanks a ton for all the info and help you have given me
Once I finally get a build done with my own receiver ill post pics for you

I doubt a hammer and block will do, a press would be best but not needed, as stated earlier I used his jig with a couple large C-clamps.

I don't think they will know how to do this properly.
Do you have a machine shop in your area? They usually know and can do this or can let you know who in the area can.

There are a couple machine shops. That is why I posted about haveing barrels and trunnions made in the BIY thread. Im still thinking about having at least one made so I can have custom serial # on it (thinking about getting one of those yugo front ends from apex and making stamped from it). Ill post more about it there after this.

Curtis has tons of build info on his site and just about any part you'll need for a build. His rivet jigs are top notch and based on Plinker's design.
I posted the link to his jig because you would probably be money ahead if you just bought one of his jigs for $170, used it, and then sold it for @ $140.

Ive found a awesome scrap yard around here. I can get 2X2X3/16 angle iron for about $1.55/ft. While i was there yesterday (was getting iron for the poor mans jig) I saw that he had any types of steel stock in stock. Looked like he had some 3"X1/2" and even as large as 4"X1". If I can get the total length, width, and height of the raw form of the jig then I should have no problem getting the steel then my wifes uncle (owns a metal fabricating shop) can help me get the final form made. Right now I am just waiting on my calipers from ebay, got some for less than $10 shipped, harbor freight wanted $15+$8 shipping. Let me get a couple bent on the poor mans and ill see how it goes then ill try making your jig and testing those out also.
On another note anyone know who has good yugo bulged flats? I havent been able to find any flats and I am thinking about getting some of those yugo front ends and trunnions from apex.
I knew I had seen them before just couldnt remember where.
Tapco use to do the under folder, but that was a limited number and they never made any more.
