Surefire makes excellent aftermarket magazines....however im not sure how frequent you find them for normal ak's....I've only used them in Saiga's.

The only mags I know for sure that wont fit in a regular AK-47 are magazines designed for the Saiga series of AK-rifles.

They are polymer design, and have a feedlip already molded onto the mag, also the mag-catch lip is shorter than a normal AK magazine.

Saiga rifles have a different mag-catch(locking mechanism), thus the lip is trimmed shorter on the mags, and most saiga rifles do not come with Feed-ramps installed in the gun, because the magazines specially designed for saigas have the feed-lip built into the magazine already.
(you can easily modify any saiga to accept normal AK mags too.)

BTW: Just incase you have no idea what im talking about by Saiga AK....

(saiga rifles are excellent quality, built in russia, and were built to meet regulations back when Clinton was president, it's basically advertised as a "hunting rifle", but it has the EXACT same internals as a normal AK-47, but the trigger is moved back 2 inches....and there are some other small things different....but MOSTLY the gun has different cosemetics, so it doesn't look as "threatening", yet they make plenty of aftermarket parts....and you can just bolt most normal AK-47 cosemetics on there with Little effort.)
