Thumbs up Romanian Drum Mags

Yesterday I tried out my new Romanian 75 round drum. I am pleased to say it fit and ran perfectly in my M72 and AMD-65. Shooting as fast as I could pull the trigger :-), slow, whatever-not a single mis-feed. And loading is a snap. It was very late afternoon, actually almost dark when I tried it in the AMD-65. I have to say that the orange flames shooting out of the side of the muzzle brake was verrry cool!
My buddy has had some problems with his Korean drum, so I am pretty happy that there does not appear to be a problem with the Romanians-at least the one I got from J&G. What have you guys experienced with drum mags?
I guess the only problem I have is now I will have to buy more drums and a crapload of ammo to keep them fed!
I am new here and there is a TON of great info for us FNG's! Keep up the good work!

This site is amazing. I learned how to build my first AK from reading on this site, ended up lurking for a while and then started posting. Gunco is really my "home" forum to tell the truth. Welcome aboard !!!

Just wait until you start bump-firing through drums.... The ammo won't last very long, but it is a lot of fun! Still while my RPK is easy to bump fire, my SKS would be suitable for use in my new book, "The Idiot's Guide to Bump Firing."

Carolyn McCarthy would be proud. I was able to bump fire without a barrel shroud, pistol grip, or belt loop.

It's the thing that goes up.

At least, that's what McCarthy said!

So far the Korean ones are the only low quality ones on the market, the rest seem like they are made well.

Gunco is the best for weapons building information! I also learned how to build AKs here, one of my all time favorite sites.

I picked up a new Romy 75 rnd drum at the Creek last month. The manufacturing quality has improved greatly as has the function from the original Warsaw pact drum. Open the backplate, load it up, wind it up......shoot away at your targets. The old one was.....insert round....wind spring...insert round....wind spring..... 75 times till it was full.........and don't store it like that.

The new drum is an improved version for the Romy army or for export to US!
